Contemporary culture and the human condition investigated

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”23px”][vc_column_text]FLINT Magazine is a collective of journalists and documentarians pushing the boundaries of what is possible through alternative media, fuelled by a desire for pure journalism and an ambitious goal to make the Internet a slightly better place.

Within mainstream media we see an overriding false basis of objectivity, that is, the ‘view from nowhere’. At FLINT we empower our contributors to embrace their ‘view from somewhere’ whilst genuinely maintaining their journalistic integrity.

The idea of FLINT Magazine was formed on the streets of Mataró, Catalonia between two friends and documentary photographers – Pere Masramon and James Knox – out of a desire to create a platform dedicated to long form photographic projects. Pere and James toiled for hours over the finer details, whilst pontificating the virtues of the photographic medium and how they could make FLINT Magazine engage within transient nature of web publishing.

Mataró to Perth; FLINT Magazine took digital shape as a multimedia platform focused on visual storytelling, in collaboration with Pallet Media. Pere and James continued to develop FLINT’s globally focused content before launching.

FLINT Magazine launched at the beginning of 2014 and has since established itself as a unique platform; FLINT is, in essence, a neo-publishing platform dedicated to a form of storytelling long forgotten by the mainstream media, providing an opportunity for photojournalists and documentary photographers to disseminate phenomenological investigations of cultural relevance.

FLINT is now based on three continents; USA, Australia and Thailand and has over 200 contributors and editors working together to provide strategic content to our demographics.

The start of 2016 saw FLINT delve into the Asian market with Nikki Phoisaat leading our expansion in South East Asia; developing content and building our contributor and partner networks from our Bangkok bureau.

FLINT’s journey has been linear in its growth and expansion with contributors on every continent and a multilingual global audience. We’re currently developing the Americas market with Ricardo Palavecino and delving into Español language based content.

Read, enjoy and share.
